Meet Me Around Midnight by Ida Sand

Album Review:

Since Variety is the spice of life I can say that Meet Me Around Midnight by Ida Sand is well seasoned. Ida is a very soulful singer, song writer and pianist and performs various covers of on her debut album. A couple of my favorite cover songs from Meet Me Around Midnight are At Last made famous by Etta James and the Eurythmics Here Comes The Rain Again.

Each song on Meet Me Around Midnight takes you away to a different time and place and the overall album is very enjoyable.

Junky Star by Ryan Bingham

Album Review:

Perhaps most recognized for the song The Weary Kind (Theme From Crazy Heart Soundtrack), Ryan Bingham just released his thrid album Junky Star. You’ll recognize the same throaty voives and folk-like music that you heard in Crazy Heart.

Instigator (5 Track Single) by Kaci Brown:

Taken from Amazon reviewer “Tate”

If you’re looking at this item you have probably already heard “Instigator” and realized that it is one of the greatest dance songs ever produced. Or you might have heard the Gomi remix at the clubs and are dying to own the track. Either way, go with your gut and purchase this quick. Not only is the original hot, but the Gomi and Solar City remixes are even hotter. Even the bonus track Cadillac Hotel is one of Kaci’s greatest songs from her album, which is also very impressive.

City To City by Gerry Rafferty

City To City (MP3 Music)

List Price: $9.49 USD
New From: $9.49 USD In Stock
Used from: Out of Stock

From Amazon.com:

It took Quentin Tarantino’s using “Stuck in the Middle with You,” the 1973 hit of Gerry Rafferty’s former band Stealers Wheel, in Reservoir Dogs to make Rafferty hip again. But City to City, his 1978 solo breakthrough, has long been worth rediscovering–and not just because it contains “Baker Street,” one of the biggest and best singles of the 1970s. Rafferty brilliantly modernizes his Scottish folk-rock background on such pop treasures as the churning title track, the minor follow-up hit “Right Down the Line,” the bouncing ditty “Mattie’s Rag,” the enchantingly churchy “Whatever’s Written in Your Heart,” and others. It’s as rewardingly refreshing a change of pace now as it was when it emerged in the midst of the disco era. –Peter Blackstock

The Orchard by Ra Ra Riot

The Orchard by Ra Ra Riot:

Product Description

Ra Ra Riot began at Syracuse University and performed at many near campus venues. Known for their energetic Live shows and appearances at South by Southwest. Their new album The Orchard is an incredibly self-assured step for the band, delivering both hook-laden pop jams like first single “Boy” and the new-but-familiar-to-live-audiences “Too Dramatic” and ruminative slow-burns like the Anton Chekov/Kate Bush-inspired “The Orchard” and album-closer “Keep It Quiet.”
