All We Know Is Falling by Paramore

Album Review:

All We Know Is Falling is the debut album from the alternative Punk band Paramore. One of the late price matches to Pop’s Most Enduring Albums list and even through the alternative rock sound is there, one detects a hint of the qualifying pop characteristic. Have a listen to the samples and decide if it deserves a home in your collection.

Angels and Enemies by Sound Of Guns

Tuesday, September 24th, 2013

Album Review:

The BBC first introduced the Alternative band Sound Of Guns from Liverpool England and went on to sign with Distiller Records. Angels and Enemies is their sophomore set and features a nice sound from start to finish and is lead off by the powerful song Sometimes. If you have never heard of them, take some time and listen to the samples. I bet that you will be pleasantly surprised.

Stomping at the Savoy by Chick Webb

Monday, September 23rd, 2013

Album Review:

Chick Webb may have been a small of stature due to tuberculosis of the spine, but as a drummer and band leader, few stood taller in those days. Credited in part with discovering Ella Fitzgerald who sang in his orchestra band from 1935 – 1939 and even took over as band leader following Webb’s death in 1939. Stomping at the Savoy features a nice hour long collection of 20 of his best and makes for a great glimpse into the jazz/swing era of music.
